Constipation

What is constipation?

Constipation is a digestive system ailment where an individual has infrequent and fewer bowel movements or has bowel movements that are difficult. In this condition, the stools are often hard and dry making it difficult for the patient to pass. It mostly occurs when the colon absorbs excess water from the food making the feces become hard. Other reasons that could be responsible for constipation include physical inactivity, medications, and aging. This condition may make it painful for the patient to empty the bowels.

Types:
  • Slow-transit constipation
  • Pelvic floor dysfunction
  • Normal-transit constipation
Signs and Symptoms:
  1. Difficulty in passing stools
  2. Fewer stools than normal
  3. Stomach ache
  4. Bloating and nausea
  5. Loss of appetite
Why choose Homeopathy?

The conventional treatments include use of non-stimulant laxatives, stimulant laxatives, suppositories, enemas, and surgeries also at times. Using laxatives may damage the colon and worsen the situation. Homeopathy studies deeply the case history of the patient and identifies the root cause of constipation with the levels of severity. This helps in giving homeopathic medicines that address the problem along with the physical and emotional stress a patient goes through.
