What is trichotillomania?

Trichotillomania is an impulse control disorder in which a person pulls out one’s own hair. This act of hair pulling may happen on any part of the body which has hair but, it is more common in the areas of scalp, eyebrows, eyelids, beard, and mustache. It is a chronic condition that occurs recurrently on and off in the absence of appropriate medical intervention.
